Horse Riding - Discover Extremadura from horseback
We
create the most interesting rides to share with you in the least known
and best preserved sites of Extremadura. Our experienced guides and
well trained horses are eager to take you through the wild mountains
and open landscapes, the remote villages within Geopark Villuercas- Ibores- Jara and surroundings. You
will see magnificent mountain landscapes, great dehesa views and the
richness of nature. We can tailor each trip for both novices or
experienced riders but you have to know the basics of horseriding.
You may also, if you want, bring in your own saddle, maximum weight 12
kg.
Other restrictions: minimum age is 12 years, maximum length is 2 meters and maximum weight is 105 kg.
Our Offer:
One-day horse riding tour approximately 35 km, minimum 2 and maximum 6 persons, about 6 hours in the saddle, with sufficient
rest periods. Start at 9.00 o'clock until 18.00 o'clock, subject to
availability all dates possible between the last weekend of March until the middle of
June and from the middle of August until the last weekend of October.
Boarding and exit point: Aldeacentenera.
From Aldeacentenera this ride has various possibilities. You can choose
to go to Berzocana, this is a typical mountain village with a very
famous church. Or, to Cabañas del Castillo which has the ruins
of a castle and caves with prehistoric rock carvings. Also it has a
well- known Vulture Rock. Another possibility is Castañar de
Ibor with its famous cheeses and natural swimming pools. You will cross
along fairly flat terrain, with steppe landscapes and dehesa with
beautiful Holm- and Cork oak, and through rough mountain areas and
along beautiful rivers like the Rio Garciaz. All year round the nature is
beautiful. Aldeacentenera itself is a typical village with a rich
history.
Includes: horse rentals, guide(s), coffee, tea and lunch.
You drive by yourself to the departure point in Aldeacentenera.
Two-days horse riding tour approximately 35 km, minimum 2 and maximum 6 persons, about 6 hours in the saddle, with sufficient rest periods. Starting dates: every Monday or Thursday from the last weekend of March
until the middle of June and from mid August till the last weekend of
October.
Boarding and exit point: Aldeacentenera. The
same idea as above, but with an extension of one night overnight in a
Casa Rural (Country House) in the typical mountain village of
Navezuelas.
Includes horse rental, guide(s), full board (2 overnights, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches or lunch packages, 2 dinners, drinks).
Your luggage is transported by us to Navezuelas and back to
Aldeacentenera. You drive yourself to the departure point in
Aldeacentenera.
Three-days horse riding tour approximately 35 km per day, minimum 2 and maximum 6 persons, about 6 hours in the saddle, with sufficient rest periods.
Starting dates: every Monday or Thursday from the last weekend of March
until mid June and from mid August till the last weekend of October.
Start-/ending place: Guadalupe or Aldeacentenera.
Your ride starts in Aldeacentenera and
ends in Guadalupe, or vice versa. This ride leads you through varied
terrain, with steppe landscapes and dehesas with beautiful Holm- and
Cork oak in to the more humid areas and beautiful rivers like the Rio
Garciaz and the famous Rio Almonte.
Near Guadalupe you will meet rough mountains with views of the highest
mountains in Las Villuercas, and you will cross clear rivers. You will
see also characteristic large fincas with ancient olive and chestnut
trees. Nature is beautiful throughout the whole year, with abundant flowers in spring and intense colours in autumn.
During this trek you will visit the typical mountain village of
Cabañas del Castillo and you will be staying overnight in the
village Solana, 'Puerta Solana', an excellent Casa Rural. The
other overnight lodgings will be our choice depending on the weather
(rain and low or too high temperatures).

You drive yourself to the start-/ending place. Your luggage will be transported by us.
Extension per day is possible, up to 5 days.
